Harris RF-7800W Broadband Ethernet HCLOS Radio Lightning Protector 12069-0040-01

The Lightning Protector (LP) provides a tool-less connection to RF-7800W HCLOS Radio installations that will not restrict the Power over Ethernet (PoE) necessary to power the radio. The LP is best used with Harris preassembled cables (ordered separately). Choosing the correct cable length will ensure the LP is installed correctly. For mast installations, it is recommended that one LP be installed closest to the point of entry of the networking equipment. If towers are installed, two LPs should be installed: one closest to the point of entry of the networking equipment and one on the tower closest to the radio. The total cable length from radio to PoE source should be 91 meters (~298.6 feet), allowing 9 more meters (~30 feet) for a network connection from the PoE source to a networking device (PC, router, etc.). The maximum distance for RJ-45 cable, using 100BaseT Ethernet speeds, can be up to 100 meters (~328 feet) without any packet degradation. This is an IEEE 802.3 standard, not a limitation imposed by the RF-7800W HCLOS Radio. Finish/Color: Powder Coat Green.
